Meet A.S, one of the beneficiaries of our Mental Health Program. His name has been changed to protect his privacy.

During one of our caretaker meetings, we were informed about a community member who was experiencing severe mental health challenges and needed urgent support. A.S had been struggling with mental health illness, and his behavior had become difficult for his family and the surrounding community to manage. He was experiencing episodes that led to conflicts with neighbors and put both himself and others at risk.

Before receiving support from our program, A.S’s family had tried seeking help through traditional methods, but unfortunately, these efforts did not improve his condition.

Our mental health team visited A.S to conduct an assessment and understand his situation. Upon arrival, we found that his caretakers had restrained him as they felt they had no other option to prevent harm during his episodes. Recognizing the need for professional medical care and compassionate support, our team safely assisted John and facilitated his transfer to the hospital, where he received a proper assessment and treatment.

After receiving care, A.S was discharged and enrolled in ongoing support through our Mental Health Program. He is now receiving his medication, regular follow-ups, and continued support from our team. His condition has improved, and he is doing much better than before.

A.S’s journey highlights the importance of accessible mental health services and the impact that timely intervention, medical care, and community support can have on individuals and families facing mental health challenges.

Through the continued support of our sponsors and partners, we are able to reach more people like A.S and help them access the care they need to live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
